Treasurer, John Smith checking account balance as of 5.14.14 $7963.73 including dues and street fair booth deposits
Secretary, Jenny Kilgore absent, minutes from April meeting approved by Janet Lawson, second motion John Smith .
Vice President, Janet Lawson, reporting on street fair event updates. 9 applications have been received to date, Becky Regenold is logging vendors and keeping track for Janet. Hamster Ball will be returning hosted by _______. Concerns by vendors about childrens area, they don’t want participants to be confused and think their sand art etc is free, because it’s located in a childrens area. Email blast has been sent to all prior vendors and 60 new city flea vendors including Ohio Green vendors. Bringing total of 160 vendors who have received a save the date card and our invitation to participate. Sponsorships so far include Village of Glendale same amount as prior years and is designated for band expense. Also we will reach out to 5/3 bank to see if they are willing to sponsor again. AAA expressed interest but wants to wait and possibly join chamber and rent booth this year.
Jay Silbermann updated bands and beer for street fair. Contacted Rachel Hyrnak about Salsa demo and dancing as mid day entertainment, so far Robin Lacy is our headliner band to close the evening. Janet Lawson will contact Matt Holman from Landmark Church to see if they can be our opening band. Madtree Beer proposal for our craft beer at street fair was agreed upon by all in attendance. Issues with the power for their beer truck will be resolved by using the diesel engine on the truck. Bud lite will be sold in bottles, same cost as draft Madtree beer. The ACMF block the sun run used them for their event and the Madtree outsold the Bud Lite option. Janet Lawson discussed souvenir cups/ disposable cups, worth it to have cups printed? Need to do cost analysis and also GAP products may be a possible sponsor for souvenir cups or mugs
John Smith needs Car show donation documentation. $100 donation agreed by all in attendance.
Jenny Dennis will contact Bett Choris for Chamber to Participate in Memorial Day Parade, do we need to pass out candy? Other item?
June 7th concert on Green to be promoted by chamber members, email will be sent out by Jenny Dennis to see if any member would like to pass anything out at the event.
Pam Brooks; Statements in Hair Salon suggested the chamber host a fund raiser for volunteer firefighter Matt Hicks, needs to raise $40,000. For a prosthetic leg needed to fight fires. Janet Lawson will meet with her to see how chamber could be involved.
Sabrina Sevier to host June business after hours event, date not yet set.
Ralph Hoop suggested any business can add to GHP welcome new residents packets/bags put together by Peggy Shardelow.
