Emily from UC Marketing department did an In-depth interview with 10 individuals who frequent village shopping and 3 business owners in order to determine the level of awareness of Glendale Village. With the assistance of her professor she made recommendations for increasing foot traffic to the Village of Glendale’s businesses by increasing the awareness of the convenience of village shopping. One questions asked was “What factors do you consider when shopping….price, selection or convenience? The main variable for 7 out of 10 consumers is selection.7 out of 10 polled unaware of Glendale and did not know about the square. 3 had been here and loved it. Recommendations were to increase awareness and perception of convenience of shopping in Glendale with the following:

Thank you to GENERATION Y ASSOCIATION for attending, donating their time as the play ground chaperones and providing a corn hole board and bags for the corn hole tournament. It was a joy to be surrounded by positive and inspiring youth.
Generation Y Association (GEN Y) is an association that is geared towards the young people who have the passion and desire to want to improve, stand out and make an impact in their communities by providing young people with the skills needed to become successful in the world. They are available through volunteering for community service, fundraisers and event planning.
John Smith commented on the importance of the Burger Bash and how it raised awareness of working within the community. This was truly a Glendale community event that nurtured the residents and reminded them of how wonderful it is to live in the village of Glendale. He stated that the Chamber needs to keep the community in mind when promoting the Village; they are our biggest supporters. Resident feedback was positive and the buzz of next year’s event is in the air.
Gina kertz from the Cincinnati Enquirer ran a burger bash promotion on www.cincinnati.com. The ad ran for one day. The web site is seen by 40086 people. 21 people outside Glendale clicked on our ad.(5% click on ad average and the national average is 2%). Please give her a call for any advertising needs you may have.
Burger Bash Stats 860 Hamburgers and 100 hotdogs sold $1515 beverage sales Fire department made $1050.00 for their fireman’s fund It was estimated 800-1000 people attended in 4 hours. Donations were made to Generation Y, a local family raising money for The Cure Starts Now and the Dulcimer Society.
