Board Reports:
President: Sherri Kohn expressed appreciation to the Piccolo staff for again hosting the meeting and
requested that in a roundtable format each attendee introduce themselves.
Treasurer: Beth Lauter reported current balances
Street Fair Account: $ 6,399.78
Savings Account: $ 1,922.70
Checking Account: $ 3,247.17
Secretary: Jenny Kilgore reported that the August minutes are being circulated among attendees for edits and
corrections.
1st Annual Spook Pooch Event: Kevin Wilhelm reported that the venue, originally to take place at Lake Park, has been moved to the Harry Whiting Brown Campus, closer to the Beer, Wine, & Food Festival. The time I s 1 to 5PM; activities include lure & ability courses, the parade to take place at 2PM. Procedes to benefit HWB, SPCA, & the Cincinnati Zoo. Seeking volunteers.
3rd Beer, Wine, & Food Festival: The date has changed from August 31st through September 2nd to Friday October 12th & Saturday October.13th. The event is looking for sponsors. Discussion ensued questioning the reason for the date change and reliability of these dates: advertising, staffing, ordering stock.
Spooky Pooch Parade (HWB), October 13th, 1 to 5PM (?), Lake Park, pet merchandise vendors and sponsors are secured.
3rd Annual Chamber sponsored Christmas on the Square:
Evening of December 5th, 4 to 8PM. Seeking sponsors; lost $1,500. Sponsor for the carosel. Meritage is providing BBQ ribs & Mac & Cheese for the dinner tent, HWB is supplying hot dogs & S’mroes for younger patrons. There was a question as to whether GHP would provide horse drawn carriages (not supplying for 2012 Street Fair) Music & heaters provided by the Sweeney Family.
HWB Christmas Home Tour: December 8, 12AM to 5PM. New to the event is 2 shuttle vans that will drop off & pick up door-to-door ticket holders; the cost of the vans is donated by the Sweeney family, the cost for the drivers is sponsored by the chamber. Tickets: presale = $20, day of event = $25.
The chamber will host Christmas on Congress, 2 to 7PM; attractions to include carolers, food trucks, etc.
2012 Chamber sponsored Street Fair:
September 29, noon to 9PM.
Becky Regenold reported that to date there are 65 vendors; the entertainment includes A-Marika Dance Company 1PM, Danny Frazier Band 2 to 5PM, The Stoopid Roosters 6 to 9PM. The square will be closed to vehicles 9.28 1PM through10.1 noon; vendors may setup Friday 6 to 8PM & Saturday 9 to 11AM. Childrens’ activities will be located primarily at the south end of the square, the beer booth is at the north end.
