President: Sherri Kohn thanked the Grand Finale for hosting the meeting and requested that in a roundtable
format each attendee introduce themselves.
Treasurer: Beth Lauter reported current balances
Street Fair Account: $744.78
Savings Account: $1,922.30
Checking Account: $2,288.67
Paid Membership to date: 16 members
Secretary: Jenny Kilgore distributed the minutes of the February meeting, apologized for missing the March
meeting, and enlisted attending members to display provided flyer for Glendale Kindervelt’s 2nd semi-
annual Silver lady II jewelry sale fund raiser in support of Cincinnati Childrens Hospital’s Asthma
Research.
Burger Bash Update:
Chamber sponsored event as gift to community, Sunday August 19, at Lake Park.
Music will be provided by the Bare Foot Pickers (blue grass).
Attractions to include draft beer, hot air balloon, & burgers.
No vendors but Glendale businesses are encouraged to provide handouts &/or small ‘give-aways’
Ellen of Calista B’s expressed concern regarding lack of customer traffic in the village square. Suggestions to increase interest/business include
Organizing a weekly evening for extended hours promoting a positive shopping experience
Provide beer, wine, soft drinks, & cheap food for children
Event branding, identity
Promotion: the post office will deliver unaddressed post cards to target zip code for $.145 each
Examples: Cincinnati’s Final Fridays, Louisville’s Rock the Block, Greenville’s Jazz nights
Glendale Youth Sports is again seeking sponsors. Last year’s banners will be displayed this season for a $50
charge, new banners cost $150 (last year’s cost).
2012 Chamber sponsored Street Fair: Becky Regenold reported
That all former vendors had been contacted
The Running Spot is planning to host a race; proceeds will support the Chamber Street Fair
The need for sponsors for music led to possibility of Karaoke State Championship Finals held during street fair, the Stupid Roosters scheduled for the evening entertainment.
3rd Annual Beer & Wine Festival will be organized by the Iron Horse and held Labor Day Weekend.
