Board Reports:
President: Sherri Kohn expressed appreciation to the Piccolo staff for hosting the meeting and requested that in a roundtable format each attendee introduce themselves.
Treasurer: Beth Lauter reported current balances
Street Fair Account: $2,749.78
Savings Account: $1,922.54
Checking Account: $3,247.17
Secretary: Jenny Kilgore reported that the April & May Minutes are online for everyone’s convenience and for anyone to suggest changes.
2012 Chamber sponsored Street Fair: Becky Regenold updated the previous month’s report regarding sponsors, vendors, entertainment, & the cost of advertising. Discussion included cost vs charges for drinks, availability of tickets presale & during the event, and reported approximately $12,070.70 as income & $9,154.42 as expenses to date.
3rd Beer, Wine, & Food Festival: Scott of The Cock & Bull reported that this year’s event is a charity event with 100% of the proceeds supporting The Cure Starts Now. The Festival will run August 31st through September 2nd, hours: 8/31 6 to 11PM, 9/1 2 to 11PM, 9/2 noon o 6PM. Entrance & 5 drink ticket can be purchased presale for $15 or at the gate for $20, additional drink tickets will also be available during the event. To date 21 beer booths, 14 wine booths, & 8 food vendors are committed. Entertainment will include: 8/31: Snidley Whiplash from 8 to 11PM, 9/1: Blue Sacrifice from 8 to 11PM, & 9/2: Source Jazz 1:30 to 4:30PM. Volunteers are needed and can apply at The Cure Starts Now website.
General Discussion:
John Smith of Smith’s Jewelers expressed excitement regarding his move, as well as The Petit Cottage to 1115 Congress (formerly BellaDonna) and Brian Smith’s new position as custom designer for Hannoush Jewelers, he will be located at the Northgate location..
