Robin Thomas – reported on Beer, Wine & Food Festival to be held July 29, 30, 31st Times: Friday 6-11:00, Sat 2-11:00, Sun 12-6:00 $5 admission – tickets are separate for beer/wine Event is sold out, with one booth available – currently have 42 booths-lighted tents Robin showed BWF guide of vendors, booth layout Entertainment: Friday is Ricky Nye and Saturday is Stacy Mitchhart Jazz Food booths are: IH, Taste of Belgium, Heiny’s, Grand Finale, Gabby’s, Pizza, Vineys Catered Affair, Baha Tacos Other booths: Sprice Art, Silver jewelry, coffee, Marc Wavra, Spencies, Spice-Findley Mkt, Universal Studio, WARM98 on Friday only. Shuttle buses will run to/fro Princeton High School for parking Charity – The Cure Starts Now, using QR codes throughout square to tell their story Volunteers will be trained by You Tube and at one meeting TBD Portalets in the alley – approx. 5 Ads will run in Metro Mix, City Beat, Tri County Press
Susan Kruesman – reported on the Glendale Street Fair on Sept. 24th from 12-9:00 She is getting better lighting, sponsorships and apps are on website GHP in chairing the horses, Donna Wesselman is chairing the beer booth, SPCA is coming. Asking for $25 donation from businesses that no longer need a booth in front of their stores. Booth rental is $50-90 for chamber members, $60-100 for non-members
Sherri Kohnle – reported on August 14th Burger Bash in Lake Park from 3-7:00 Bring chairs and tents for community usage Dulcimer Society to entertain, Hot Air Balloon rides, Circus Workshops, HWB has bouncey ball, Chantrice is using a mission group for babysitters-taking donations for payment, dunking machine-police vs. firemen, GYS will do corn-hole. Restaurants include: Café Duwheel, Doris & Sonny’s, Gabby’s, Friendly Stop, Oakley Pub – all to do burgers and sides. Glendale Firefighters will have hot dogs. Alpine Valley donating water, Kona Ice will sell ice cream and icies. Chamber is selling beer and soft drinks – no other coolers allowed. Can park at St. Gab’s, using local advertising, volunteers still needed, 2 port a lets on premise. Email will be coming for planning meeting. Banners can be used by businesses.
Katherine Fitzgerald – commented on promotions committee. Will have UC Capstone project leaders at next meeting.
Sheri Kohnle – commented that we need to promote local businesses to create a viable business square. It has been a tough year. Promotion committee is to study advertising ideas for businesses.
Ellen Bockensette – Calista B is having Van Gogh night including 1st cellist, Mr. Johns, to do readings and poems. Wants to promote an “art” night in Glendale. Will be held sometime in Sept. or Oct.
Sheri Kohnle – wants to take over community bulletin board for better promotional material.
Loretta Rokey – will get the water fountain in square to work.
